25 Most Censored Stories in the Media, 2003-2004

Slashdot ran this link yesterday, to the Censored 2005: The Top 25 Censored Media Stories of 2003-2004.  A followup discussion then ensued on Slashdot, which can be found here.  I honestly had never heard some of these, and haven't read them all.  Not sure about the veracity of all of this either, but it will make for an interesting read.

Hey Hey Hey

I think this is pretty accurate...

you are violet
#EE82EE

Your dominant hues are red and blue. You're confident and like showing people new ideas. You play well with others and can be very influential if you want to be.

Your saturation level is lower than average - You don't stress out over things and don't understand people who do. Finishing projects may sometimes be a challenge, but you schedule time as you see fit and the important things all happen in the end, even if not everyone sees your grand master plan.

Your outlook on life is bright. You see good things in situations where others may not be able to, and it frustrates you to see them get down on everything.

Missle or Plane

I was not aware that there was any question whatsoever into whether the Government story of Flight 77 crashing into the Pentagon were true.  This shockwave site gives some relatively strong evidence that would suggest that it was a missle, not a plane, that hit the Pentagon. The video is Here.  Must give thanks to David Delauro for posting a link to this on his Blog, Lest Blood Be Shed.

Its been awhile

Ok, so a really long while since I wrote anything.  And I don't have much to say at the moment, except what is going on in the world today.  We've had bus bombings in Israel, plane hijackings in Russia, executions in Iraq and now, some offshoot Islamic extremist guerrilla group has taken over a school this morning, holding 400 people, including 200 children hostage.  Early reports show they have about 12 men, with guns and bombs strapped to themselves.  They've vowed to execute 50 children for every guerilla that is killed.  Thats fucked up.

*Update* There is an article on the School Children Hostage Situation at the Chicago Tribune. Also stories here, here, and here.

Apparently my original report of 400 hostages (which I heard on the radio on the way into work) was overstated, but does not belittle the gravity of the situation over there.

Its things like this

That disenchant me with Catholicism.  Its a double edged sword, ok, so more like one sharp edge, the other a dull edge.  In this article is describe the plight of an 8y/o girl not being able to take communion because of a wheat allergy and the refusal of the church to allow the girl to take communion using a rice wafer.  However, according to Catholic Dogma, the Host must contain some unleavened wheat, in "accordance" with the last supper.  But also in Catholic Dogma, noone who wants to be a genuine part of the faith should be excluded.  Furthermore it states that in order to fully participate in the Faith and thus enter the kingdom of Heaven, one must take Communion.  I'll be interested to see how this ends up playing out, but the preliminary information points to a conclusion which furthers my disenchantment with Catholicism.

Help me get an Ipod, get one yourself

Hey folks,

If you sign up for this offer, using my link http://www.freeiPods.com/default.aspx?referer=8168909, and 5 people do it, I get a free iPod.  According to Wired Magazine's artilce Found Here it is a legitimate thing.  I suggest the Real Rhapsody offer, as it is only going to cost you $.99 and is the fastest to "verify".  Hell, the first 5 people to sign up, I'll reimburse your $.99.  So do this please!  You don't have anything to lose.  Post a comment if you go all the way through the registration.

David
